Card Creations Vol. 11 Blog Hop!

So I’m lucky enough to actually have a copy of this new issue in my hands – and let me just tell you that the content is nothing short of PHENOMENAL!!  We were asked to create a project for you that features the digital sentiments that are included in this and every Paper Crafts Magazine issue.  Here’s what I came up with:

I’ll be honest – I’ve never actually used the downloadable sentiments until now.  And now, I’m addicted!!  It was super easy to click on the sentiment, save it to my pictures, and then print it out for use on my card.  Another great feature?  You can make it any size and color that you like!! BONUS!

1.  Make card from cardstock.

2.  Download, size and print sentiment; trim into a strip the width of your card base.

3.  Trim panel and stamp floral vine; stamp flowers on scraps and fussy cut; adhere to floral vine with foam tape.

4.  Adhere image panel to card base with foam tape; adhere sentiment strip to card front.

5.  Embellish flower centers with self-adhesive pearls.

This all came together so easily, and I credit that beautiful sentiment with most of the ease!  I’ll most definitely be using some of the downloadable sentiments again!

Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary . . . A Fun Challenge!

Well, those fun gals at Shirley's 2 Girls have come up with another fun challenge - they like to call this one the "222 World Wide Challenge"! What's that, you ask? Well, it's a challenge that they post once a month on the Shirley's 2 Girls Challenge Blog that starts on the 2nd 2sday of the month at 2:00 p.m. (PDT) - and it's open to the world!! Clever, huh?! Each month, the challenge varies - this month's challenge is an "inspiration/color" challenge. Here are the details:

THINK COLOR! THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!

We decided to forego a template this time . . . and let your imagination go wild with COLOR and this nursery rhyme!

Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
how does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.

We want you to use this rhyme for a jumping off point . . . being young . . . carefree . . . open your mind and get creative! The color palette is . . . Lavender, Orange, Lime, Black and White. Remember that the due date is April 21st at 2:00 p.m. (PDT)! After you have finished your piece, post it to your BLOG and/or SCS (using keywords 222WWW and shirleys2girls), then link it to our"Mr. Linky" on the Shirley's 2 Girls Challenge Blog HERE. Now, I don't know if you know this, but Shirley's 2 Girls have recently come out with some amazingly cute digital images. And they're so inexpensive and instant gratification-y (yep, that's a new word I just made up)! If you don't own any Shirley's 2 Girls stamps, and you wanted to you use one of their images, then you could download some like RIGHT NOW from the store HERE.


In fact, I've used one of the new digital images for my challenge sample. Isn she pretty?!! I just downloaded the image on my computer, printed her out on my Neenah Solar White CS (I think it's 80#, but I'm not sure), colored her in with my Copics, and VOILA!!

So, get your Easter Bonnet on over there and start creating!! Can't wait to see what you all come up with!!

Some of the CA-YUTEST Digi Images You've Ever Seen!!

Okay, so you know my two fun friends, Deidre and Kristine, right? They're the two BRILLIANT minds behind Shirley's 2 Girls. So, those two fun ladies have come up with something that is so cutting edge, you'll be blown away! They have designed the CA-YUTEST digital images EVER!! At least in my humble opinion, they're the cutest. LOL Look at how cute this little Easter Bunny is!! And she is just the icing on the cake - there's more HERE. Now don't be intimidated By digital images - really it's not brain surgery. All you have to do is click on the images that you want to purchase, pay for them, and then the images are sent to you in an email INSTANTLY!! You can then download them and print them out on card stock or designer paper and GO TO DIGITAL IMAGE TOWN, I tell ya!! I'm such an "instant gratification" gal - and the ability to have these images in a flash like that just MAKES ME HAPPY!! So, what the heck are you waiting for?!!
