Happy Friday, Peeps!

CC11_2013_Cover_HR

I am thrilled beyond belief to be included in the blog hop to help promote the newest Paper Crafts Magazine special issue – Card Creations - Volume 11!!  If you’re visiting my blog for the first time, WELCOME!! If you’ve arrived here from the amazing Emily Leiphart’s blog, you’re in the right place!!  Here’s the entire list of blog hop participants (*squealing with delight to even be included amongst such incredible talent!*):

So I’m lucky enough to actually have a copy of this new issue in my hands – and let me just tell you that the content is nothing short of PHENOMENAL!!  We were asked to create a project for you that features the digital sentiments that are included in this and every Paper Crafts Magazine issue.  Here’s what I came up with:

With Heartfelt Sympathy

I’ll be honest – I’ve never actually used the downloadable sentiments until now.  And now, I’m addicted!!  It was super easy to click on the sentiment, save it to my pictures, and then print it out for use on my card.  Another great feature?  You can make it any size and color that you like!! BONUS!

1.  Make card from cardstock.

2.  Download, size and print sentiment; trim into a strip the width of your card base.

3.  Trim panel and stamp floral vine; stamp flowers on scraps and fussy cut; adhere to floral vine with foam tape.

4.  Adhere image panel to card base with foam tape; adhere sentiment strip to card front.

5.  Embellish flower centers with self-adhesive pearls.

This all came together so easily, and I credit that beautiful sentiment with most of the ease!  I’ll most definitely be using some of the downloadable sentiments again!

Paper Crafts has very generously offered up a free Card Creations Volume 11 issue for a random commenter on each blog.  So leave me some love, and I’ll pick a random winner.  You have until Tuesday, March 12th to comment for a chance to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  The next stop on the hop is Rachel Izakowicz!  No doubt she has something delicious to share with you!  Oh, you’ll want to drop by the Paper Crafts Connection Blog for more fun and prizes, too!

Have a great weekend!

Under A Cherry Tree Guest Designer!!

Hola Peeps!!

Happy Wednesday!  I’m popping in today as the guest designer for Jin at Under A Cherry Tree – the most clever and innovative electronic die cutting expert on the face of the earth!!  No seriously . . . I don’t think you understand.  Jin is like the MacGyver of electronic die cutting, and I heart her like no other!!  So to say that I was honored and thrilled when she asked me to be her guest designer is a total understatement.  Jin asked me to share a few of my favorite Silhouette projects, so let’s get to it, shall we?

You Bowl Me Over

I’ve been using my Silhouette SD in my card designs for the last several months now, and I feel like it’s totally changed the way I create.  I love the way it satisfies that “straight line/symmetrical” side of my creative brain, and the dimension that it adds is so amazing!  For my first project, I downloaded the “Sun Bowl Sign” (Design # 21141) from the Silhouette Studio store, and created a print and cut project with it.  I added the word “You” in the upper banner, and printed “Me Over” on the card front.  I loves me a punny sentiment, and I thought it would be a perfect card for the guy in your life to show him how much you love him in his love language!  Right?!  LOL

Cozy Winter Wishes 3

We finally got a bit of summer here in Washington – it’s been HOT the last couple of days!  But that didn’t keep me from creating this fun little winter beanie.  I love taking an image (Snow Day, Design #24488), resizing it, mirroring the image, and welding it to create a shaped card.  I actually learned this little trick from Jin – she’s  a genius, I tell ya!

Teen Birthday Chuck 2

Finally, I don’t think I’ve ever shared this project with you, but this design was a fun little project that was published in the recent Card Creations, Volume 10, a special issue put out by Paper Crafts Magazine.  I would KILL for a cool looking pair of Chuck’s like this, wouldn’t you?!!  This shoe card was downloaded (Duh with Tennis Shoe, Design #23338), resized, mirrored and welded, similar to the hat above.  I added some fun stitching with my sewing machine, and stamped the sentiment.  Easy peasy!

Well, that’s it for me today, kids!  I’d like to thank Jin for allowing me to share on her blog today.  If you all are ever looking for die cutting tutorials, product comparisons, and fantabulous ideas for utilizing your electronic die cutting machine in your creative life, you so need to hang out for a bit at Jin’s blog, Under A Cherry Tree – you are going to be BLOWN AWAY!

Thanks so much for stopping by today – I so appreciate it!  Have a great day!
