Waffle Flower–Santa Suit Advent Calendar!

FOR MY GIVEAWAY POST, PLEASE CLICK HERE – CONTEST ENDS 11/30/14 AT 12:01 AM (PDT)!!

Hola!!

Waffle Flower Advent Calendar 11-26-14

I’m back today with another project that I created with some of the Waffle Flower stamps and dies that I picked up recently!  I always wanted to create an Advent calendar for my kids when they were little – needless to say, I never got around to it!  So, I thought I’d finally come through and create one for my grandkids!  I think they’re really going to like it!  Inside each tag is a different holiday activity – one for each day leading up to Christmas!  It was super simple to create – here are a few step-by-step photos to give you an idea of what I did.  I’ve also listed the products that I used below!

Easy, peasy!!  It took me a bit of time to create this, but I’m so happy with how it turned out!  I think my grandkids are going to have a blast participating in all of the fun holiday activities that are listed on each tag.  I have to say that the Waffle Flower products really made this even more easy to create!  If you’d like the Silhouette Print and Cut file that I created for the inside of each tag, please leave me a message here, and I’ll get that to you as soon as I can!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  To my U.S. friends, wishing you and yours a lovely Thanksgiving!  We’ll be celebrating with a few family members that are here in AZ.  I might even do a bit of Black Friday shopping.  Heeheehee!  Have a great day!

Avery Elle - Ho Ho Ho From the North Pole!

Hello friends!!

Well, I think the last time I posted I was off to enjoy an amazing weekend in Mexico!  We had a fabulous time, to say the very least!  On our way home, though, we got a text from our daughter that our granddaughter was on her way – five weeks early!  Yikes!!  So, I hopped on a plane the next morning and I’ve been here helping with my grandsons ever since.  Baby Brynley was born Monday evening, and for the most part has been doing great!  She’s no bigger than a peanut, but she’s so stinkin’ cute!  She’s getting stronger and bigger with every passing day, and she’s the perfect addition to our family!

Anywho, that’s the reason that things have been pretty quiet here on my blog.  But I wanted to pop in quickly to share another of my Avery Elle design team projects for the recent Fall Release!

10-31-14 North Pole

This project features the new stamp set called North Pole.  It’s a stamp set that is so fun and creative and unlike any holiday stamp set I’ve ever seen – Jamie is so clever and creative in her designs!!  There are three different  hats with different sentiments at the end of each (and coordinating dies).  When I saw the “ho ho ho” hat, I immediately envisioned Santa’s hat coming out of the top of a chimney.  I designed and cut a chimney using my Silhouette Cameo.  I placed some Cherry cardstock behind the negative space of the die cut chimney design.  I hand trimmed some snow drifts out of Pure White cardstock, and stamped a sentiment from Joy to the World using VersaMark and heat embossed it with some red embossing powder.  I stamped the “ho ho ho” Santa hat, again in VersaMark and heat embossed with red EP, die cut it with the coordinating North Pole Elle-Ments, and mounted the hat with foam tape.  Be sure and pop into the Avery Elle Design Blog to see what my sweet teammate, Katie, has created for you!  It’s sooo cute!!

That’s it for me today, friends!!  I’ll be back tomorrow morning with a project for the next AEI♥U Challenge!  I hope you’ll stop by to see what it is!  Thanks so much for stopping by today – it means the world to me!!

Avery Elle–It’s Your Time to Soar!

Hi Friends!!

10-24-14 Look Up

Peeking in quickly today to share another of the projects I created for the Fall 2014 Avery Elle release!!  This project features the super cool stamp set called Look Up!  I am in love with the brush stroked words and images, and the super cool artsy feel of this set!  I loved the “It’s your time to soar” sentiment and thought it would be perfect for a graduation card!  I stamped the sentiment and the balloon image from the set in VersaMark onto the smooth side of some watercolor paper, and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I then inked up a craft sheet using Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress ink pads, and heavily spritzed that with water.  I “smooshed” the image panel into the wet ink, making sure to cover the whole panel and doing my best to spread the color around so that it showed variegation in the coloring.  I wanted it to look like a cloudy sky!  Once the water color paper dried, I rounded the corners with a corner rounder and adhered the panel to a card base with foam tape.  I die cut the grad cap using my Silhouette Cameo and some Mimosa and New Moon card stock, assembled it, and adhered it to the balloon.  Lastly, I sprinkled some Lemonade Blend and Midnight Blend sequins about, and adhered them with some matte medium.  I’ve listed the products that I used below.

That’s it for me today friends!  We’re spending some beach time in Puerto Penasco, Mexico with some dear friends for the weekend!  I hope you have some lovely and relaxing plans for your weekend, too!  Thanks so much for stopping by!
