CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #54–Man, It’s Casual Friday!

Happy, Happy Friday!!

Phew!!  We finally made it back to Washington in one piece, but 26 hours in the car has taken a toll on this old bag!!  LOL  But I’m starting to feel back to my old self again, and look forward to a full weekend of stamping and crafting now that we’re all settled.

CAS-ualFridaysNoWords

I’m here to share this week’s new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge – it’s a super fun one!!  This week’s challenge:  Create a CLEAN & SIMPLE masculine project and include patterned paper in your design.

Gina K Graphic

We have an amazing sponsor for this week’s challenge – Gina K DesignsGina K is one of the most generous and brilliant stamp companies in our industry, and she shared some utterly fabulous designer paper with the Girl Fridays - it fits this challenge to a tee!!  Gina K Stamps has also provided a terrific prize for this week’s TGIF Winner, but you’ll have to click on through to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog to find out what it is!  Oh and while you’re there, be sure to check out the deliciousness that the other Girl Fridays have cooked up for you all – I know you’ll be blown away!!  Thank you, Gina K Stamps, for your kind generosity!!  You ROCK!!

CFC54 - Casual Friday

When I received the Casual Friday paper pack, I literally swooned over these amazing patterns.  I don’t use much designer paper in my projects anymore . . . but this stuff was an absolute pleasure to work with!  The images look 3-D – incredible detail, I tell ya!  I’ve listed the other products used below, if you’re interested.

Moxie Fab Fanatical About Botanical!

Happy Sunday, Chickies!!

How has your weekend been going?  I’ve had a really nice weekend so far, and got caught up on several challenges that I’ve been meaning to play with for a while now.

GinkgoNBilobaSaffronBdgF11

So today’s project was inspired by the current Moxie Fab World Fanatical for Botanical Challenge.  Now, I should start by saying that botanical, as described by Cath in the challenge, is not my typical style.  The botanical samples that I’ve seen out there in blog land, though beautiful, are loaded with images and layers, lace and butterflies, just to name a few.  I feel like my style has evolved into a very clean and simple look – it’s what makes me happy.  So, I did me – in a graphic yet botanical way.

Fill This Day 3

I rooted through all of my stamps and felt like the skies opened up and the angels started singing when I came across one of the sets that I won for Stamping Royalty – Botanicals from Gina K. Stamps.  Perfect!!  I stamped the image multiple times in PTI Fresh Snow and Fresh Ink Provincial Gray – both pigment inks to get better coverage.  The sentiment is from PTI’s Year of Flowers: Sweet Peas, and is stamped in Onyx Black VersaFine Dye Ink.  The gray satin ribbon is from my stash.  Clean, simple, and graphic.  I’m extremely happy with how this turned out.  I love the contrast of the white and light gray on that delicious chartreuse panel, and how it all pops off the black card base.  I hope it’s botanical enough for Cath’s liking.

That’s it for me today, kids.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back soon with more challenge cards!

I Love You Grandma . . . .

Hi Friends!

I'm so sorry that I've been MIA lately.  I've been working really hard to get settled here in WA and have been catching up with old friends.  I also spent the weekend with my youngest at WSU for my last Mom's Weekend.  We had such a great time - lots of laundry, shopping, eating good food, laughing at Jay Leno (he was the entertainment!), and just hanging out with each other.  Good times, good times.

I'll be busy this week getting ready for my oldest daughter's baby shower that my sister and I are throwing.  There are a couple of fun baby shower papercrafting projects in my future, and I'll be sharing a few of them with you here this week.  But today, I wanted to share another card that I threw together for the most recent CARDS Magazine pub call.  It features two new stamps sets from Gina K Designs.  I'm kind of obsessed lately with doilies and sewing images, and these are no exception.  I'll definitely be using these images again.

STAMPS:  Nana's Needlework and Nana's Needlework Sentiments (Gina K Designs)
INK:  Rich Cocoa (Memento)
PAPER:  Spring Moss CS (Papertrey Ink), Gossamer DP (Memory Box), White CS (Neenah)
ACCESSORIES:  Janome Sew Mini, Lace (JoAnn's), Spring Moss Satin Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Stampin' Dimensionals (Stampin' Up!), Corner Rounder (EK Success)

I'm off to run some errands for the baby shower.  I'll be back tomorrow with my ABC Toys & Crafts project.  Speaking of ABC Toys & Crafts, Julie (the owner) has an amazing give away going on at the store blog - she's giving away a set of Copics people - you NEED to get over there quickly and enter to win!!  (CLICK HERE)----->FREE COPICS<----------(CLICK HERE)
