Some Paper Smooches Goodies . . . and a Sad Farewell

Well, hello again!

As promised a few days ago, I’m here to share a couple of samples that I created for the March/April Paper Smooches new release.  So let’s get to it, shall we?

Karolyn - Bold Buzzwords

This card was inspired by a technique that I learned from Julie Ebersol in the last Online Card Class: CAS3.  The focus of the class was on ideas and techniques for Clean & Simple cards.  Julie’s technique taught us how to emboss a label die onto the front of a card at the same time that you’re embossing your card front.  See those triangles and the stitched frame (Frame 1 Die)?  Well, I embossed those at the same time!!  It’s super easy to do, and I think gives some yummy texture and interest, don’t you?  The sentiment is from the new Bold Buzzwords stamp set.  I actually did two versions of this project.  Here’s the other one:

Karolyn - Buzz Words Option 2

The difference  between the two cards is that I stamped the three little hearts that are included with the Bold Buzzwords stamp set.  The hearts are fun, but I think I like the plain one better.  What do you think?

Karolyn - My Guy Dies

My next project features the coordinating dies that were recently released for the My Guy stamp set.  My husband is an avid golfer, and he actually has a darling little golf cart that looks just like the little cutie on my card!  With Father’s Day coming up soon, I’m thinking that one of my daughters will be stealing this card from my stash.  Heehee

So, sadly this will be my last post as a Paper Smooches design team member.  I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the team for the last year and a half, and have grown and learned so much since Kim gave me this amazing opportunity.  To be a part of this amazingly talented group of women has been a dream come true.  Seriously, these ladies inspire me every single day.  But it’s time for me to step aside and make room for another brilliantly talented lady to join in the fun and share their magic with you all.  I believe that Kim will be announcing the new team members over at the Paper Smooches blog – I’m sure you’re going to love them as much as I do!  I will continue to support Paper Smooches, and my sweet friend, Kim.  I want to thank Kim for giving me the opportunity to be a part of her team and for being my friend.  I’ll still be around, but will now be watching PS blossom and grow from afar.  *sniff* *sniff*

That’s it for me today, kids!  Thank you for dropping by today.  I’ll be popping in tomorrow to share the card I made for my mom’s birthday.  In the meantime, I hope you all have a great day!

Scooting By to Say Hi!

Happy Saturday, friends!!

Karolyn - Scooter Icons

Popping in today to share one of the projects that I created for the March/April Paper Smooches release.  Dies have finally been created to fit my beloved scooters from Spiffy Scooters!  Be still my heart!  I created the illusion of a road off into the distance by cutting a die cut circle in half, and adding lines with some vinyl dashes that I cut with my Cameo.  I’ve listed the products I used below.

That’s it for me today, kids!  I’m headed back to my craft room to get some homework done!  Hoping you have some crafty plans for your day, too!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Karolyn - Blog Hop - Flirty Frames

I had the pleasure of working with the new set called Flirty Frames!  It totally coordinates with the Duo Dies 1 and 2, but can also be used on its own!  That’s what I’ve done here.  I stamped the image for the Duo Die 2 on white card stock and then colored in some of the background design using an alcohol marker.  The pattern on the frame reminded me of doodling or that Zentangle stuff.  It was a ton of fun to play with!  The sentiment is also from the Flirty Frames set.  I die cut the center oval using the Duo Die 2.

So you totally need to stop by my sweet teamies’ blogs to check out what they have to share with you, and then be sure and stop by the Paper Smooches blog, too – I’m sure there’s some fun stuff there for you!

Thanks so much for stopping by today – I truly appreciate it!  I’m off to crop with my chica, and then my Brother-In-Law is coming into town tonight for a quick visit (think Nascar, Baseball, Hockey, and general guy stuff.)  Hopefully you have some fun plans in your future, too!!

Some paper smooches goodies!

It’s Fun Day Monday!!

Ha!  Today is the first day in a long, long time that I haven’t had somewhere to run to.  I’m so excited!  My days have been jam packed with loads of fun stuff lately, but I’m happy to be at home today to get caught up on some stuff.  One of the things that I’m behind on is my Paper Smooches project shares.  So let’s get to it, shall we?

Karolyn - Hooties

First up, we have a sample featuring the new stamp set called Hooties.  Check out the glitter on her eyelids and toes.  Fun, huh?  I “might” have had a little help with the coloring . . . I have an amazingly talented friend who “helped” me.  *wink*

Karolyn - Rainbow Die

Next up, we have a project featuring the new Rainbow Dies.  Who doesn’t love a rainbow?  Add a little translucent embossing paste and some spray mist, along with some curly clouds, and you’ve got yourself a whole lotta wonderful!  The sentiment is from Salutations.

Karolyn - Spectrum

And finally, we have us a sweet little unicorn floating around in the clouds.  This project features the new set stamp set called Spectrum.

I have a few more Paper Smooches projects to share, but I’ll save those for tomorrow.  In the meantime, I’m headed to my craft room to get caught up on some other crafty stuff!  Hoping that your Monday is as much of a Fun Day as I have planned!!  Thanks so much for stopping in today!  SMOOCHES!

Splitcoast Stampers Love Fest 2014 Challenges!

Happy Sunday, friends!

leiphartonart3633_SSS-SCS Love Fest 2014

Popping in quickly to share a card I made for the Splitcoast Stampers Member Company Love Fest Challenges!  The Paper Smooches challenge went live this morning – the challenge is to create either a “Fun & Cute” or “Classy & Elegant” project, using Paper Smooches stamps!  Here’s my answer to the challenge:

SCS Much Appreciated

Clearly, I chose to go down the Classy & Elegant path.  I used the rose image from Pretty Mama, masked and stamped it off in VersaMark, heat embossed with white EP, and water colored the images.  I stamped the sentiment from Many Thanks in VersaMark and heat embossed it with Queens Gold embossing powder.  I’ve listed all products used below.

Wanna play along with us?  You'll have until Monday, March 3rd at noon Central to share your challenge entries.  Each of the Splitcoast Stamper Member Companies will have a prize to award, and at the end of the event, there will be great prizes to award to 10 of our fabulous Challenge Queens who have completed all 11 event challenges. Cool, huh?

Upload your creations (they don't have to be cards!) to your Member Gallery and use today's keyword (LOVEFEST2014J) to play along.

We can't wait to see what you do! :)

Thanks for stopping by today.  I so appreciate it when you do!  Have a great day!
