CAS(E) This Sketch #11 -

Hello crafty friends!

I just got back from the Craft and Hobby Association trade show Tuesday night, and I brought a lovely cold home with me.  So I hope you won’t mind that I just can’t bring myself to be real chatty and fun today.  I’m hoping that this crud goes away soon because I simply don’t have time for this nonsense!  On a good note, though, I had an amazing time at the show – crafting Disneyland, I tell you!  More details to follow . . . very soon!

CTS11 Graphic

So, I’m popping in quickly to share a couple of samples for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch #11Jackie created this sketch and I had a ball with it!  In fact, I had so much fun with it, I created two samples.

CTS11 - So Grateful 4 U

I was browsing through a catalog before the holidays and came across a graphic that just screamed at me!  I was so inspired that I created a cutting file on my Silhouette Cameo that resembled what I saw.  I LOVE a clean lined graphic card – and I think this pretty much fits the bill, don’t you?  I also love the bold colors.  So that’s my first sample.

CTS11 - Youre Snow Cool

My second sample is a bit more simple to recreate.  It’s a little 4 x 4 card.  Instead of die cutting the quilt block, I embossed it.  I stamped some snowflakes in Versamark and heat embossed the sentiment with white EP.  I’d normally list the supplies I used for both cards, but my poor little snot filled brain just won’t let me right now.  I’ll come back later when I’m feeling better – I promise!

That’s it for me, kids.  You totally need to pop on over to the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge Blog to link your answer to the sketch and see what the other amazing ladies have created for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by today – I really, really appreciate it!

It's a great graphic and could be done with so many ways for so many looks. I absolutely love your choice of brilliant colors on the gray!

OMG! Gorgeous cards.

The grey card is beyond graphic gloriousness! Those pops of color are perfect! You got me going on the Silhouette (again). The textured paper is what really makes this divine.

And...now that I see card #2, I kicking myself in the butt (seriously, how impossilbe...) for taking the quilt dies off my last Simon Says Stamp order! Love how you embossed the background - nice touch. Beautiful colors, love the twine and especially the clever placement of the sentiment.

You rock...even when you're sick!

Your cards for this fantastic sketch are totally inspired, Karolyn! I love the modern graphic feel of the first one and the traditional quilt feel of the second one. You rocked both ends of the spectrum.

I hope your crud is wee crud and goes away soon!!

Hi Karolyn. Thank you so much for your lovely comment on my blog. I really appreciate it especially since I had not made anything in a long time and my confidence needed a boost! I love both of your cards. Love the clean lines of your graphic cards, and the bright colors of the pieces that sit on the gray. Love the diamond shapes that make up your snowflake that sit atop the embossed background. Both fabulous creations! Feel better! I am just coming out of my nasty cold misery. It's nice on this side!
