My Favorite Things–March Release Replay!

Hello!!

Some of my My Favorite Things teammates and I are sharing projects today that feature a fresh take on the March New Release!!  I thought I’d try to create something a little bit different featuring the new Sweet Succulents Stamp Set, the coordinating Sweet Succulents Die-Namics and the Stitched Square Scallop Frames Die-Namics.  Here’s what I came up with!

I love the simplicity of the images in the Sweet Succulents Stamp Set.  The open spaces allowed me to practice my lame Copic Marker shading skills.  Yeah . . . I still need some practice!  LOL  At any rate, I decided I’d make a set of four cards featuring the different potted succulents and the sentiments from the Sweet Succulents Stamp Set.  Here’s how I created each card.

  1. Trim four A2 vertical, top-folding card bases from Sweet Tooth Card Stock.  Score each at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect the creases with a Teflon Bone Folder.
  2. Die cut four mat layers from Sweet Tooth Card Stock using the stitched rectangle from the Blueprints 15 Die-Namics.  Stamp the Wood Plank Background Stamp onto the mat layers using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink.  Heat emboss each with White Detail Embossing Powder.
  3. Die cut four Stitched Square Scallop Frames Die-Namics from Sweet Tooth Card Stock.  Stamp the succulents and pots from the Sweet Succulents Stamp Set onto each of the center die cuts using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  Color the images with Copic Markers.  Stamp the sentiments from the Sweet Succulents Stamp Set using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  Adhere each image panel to the card bases with tape adhesive.  Adhere the die cut scalloped frames to each card base with foam tape.

Here’s what all four cards look like:

That’s it!  I now have four different cards for four different occasions – they’ll make a sweet gift set for a friend who is so good about sending little notes to brighten someone’s day.  I think she’ll like them!  I hope you’ll click on through to the My favorite Things Design Blog to be linked to the amazing projects that my sweet teammates have created for your inspiration.  Good stuff, good stuff.

I’m still in Portland, and as of this writing Baby Lucy still has not made her grand entrance!  We’re waiting and cajoling her, but it’s just not working.  I’ll be posting on Facebook and Instagram just as soon as she decides to show her pretty little face!  I can’t wait!  Until then, I want to thank you all for stopping by today – it makes my day when you do!
