CFC46 - Name That Tune
Well, since I’ve already admitted that I’m old enough to remember Name That Tune, I guess it’s not so far fetched that I’d admit that Debby Boone's version of You Light Up My Life was one of my most FAVORITE songs in high school.  I knew that song, word for word, and sang it at the top of my bloody lungs every time it came on the radio!  LOL  Come on – sing it with me!
Amazing, right?!  LOL

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #45–The Bold & the Beautiful!

Happy Friday Peeps!

I know, I know . . . it’s been quiet around here.  I’m so sorry – I was doing the Gramma thing for 10 days, and now I’m in Boston with the sweetest girl I know!  The whole time I’ve been away from my crafty goodies, so needless to say, I couldn’t have gotten inky even if I wanted to.  But I’ll be back Monday night, and plan to get my ink on first thing Tuesday morning!!  Stay tuned!!  LOL

CFC45 Graphic

In the meantime, I have the next CAS-ual Fridays Challenge to share you with you all!  This week’s challenge:  Create a CLEAN & SIMPLE project using pastels with black.  I loves me some pastels with black, don’t you?!

Sweet Stamp Shop

We have another fabulous sponsor for this week’s challenge – Sweet Stamp Shop.  They’ve got some super sweet images and the owner was kind enough to share some of her lovely product with the Girl Fridays to play with!  They’ve also provided an amazing prize for this week’s TGIF Winner, but you’ll have to click on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog to find out what it is!  Thank you Sweet Stamp Shop!

CFC45 - Bold & Beautiful

I was lucky enough to work with a super sweet stamp set called Hello Beautiful!  The images in this set are perfect for sending a sweet card to a friend who needs to be reminded of how beautiful she is – both inside and out!  I randomly stamped the nail polish image with VersaMark on the pastel melon panel.  I highlighted the hearts with a white gel pen.  I love this sentiment – just because I think sometimes people need to be reminded that they are beautiful.  Could this be more to the point?!  I think not!

STAMPS:  Hello Beautiful (Sweet Stamp Shop), Vintage Labels (A Muse Studio)
INK:  VersaMark and Onyx Black VersaFine (Tsukineko), Grapefruit (A Muse Studio)
PAPER:  White CS (Neenah), Berry Blush, Piglet and Passionate CS (Bazzill Basics Paper)
ACCESSORIES:  True Black Satin Ribbon (PTI), White Gel Pen (Sakura), Stampin’ Dimensionals (Stampin’ Up!), Vintage Labels Die (A Muse Studio)

That’s it for me today, kids!  I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog!!  I know that the other Girl Fridays have some delicious samples to inspire you, AND I believe that there’s a BIG FAT AMAZING ANNOUNCEMENT that’s being made by our fearless leader, Michele Gross!!  You SO need to get all the dirt PRONTO – so what are you waiting for?!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  The time you spend here means the world to me! Have a great weekend!

I also wanted to let you know that my grandson, Brenner Joseph, was born on Sunday, March 11th, just 15 minutes before my plane landed in Seattle.  By the time I got my luggage and arrived at the hospital, he was all dolled up and ready for grandma to hold and snuggle with him!!  Oh my goodness, he is a sweetie and the absolute spitting image of his big brother, Brecken.  They’re both Gramma’s little angels!!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #43–For Sentimental Reasons . . .

Hola Peeps!!

CFC43 Graphic

Can you believe it’s Friday and time for another CAS-ual Fridays Challenge again?!!  Oh my gosh – where do the days go?!!  This week’s challenge is another goodie (don’t you think our Fearless Leader, Michele Gross, does an amazing job of keeping us really challenged with her clever ideas?!).  YOUR CHALLENGE:  Create a CLEAN & SIMPLE project where the sentiment is the FOCAL point.  In other words, your eye needs to immediately be drawn to the sentiment of your project.  Fun, right?!

SRM Stickers Graphic

This week’s fabulous sponsor is SRM Stickers!!!  SRM Stickers has an amazing selection of clear stickers that make card making and scrapbooking an absolute breeze!!  The kind owners of SRM Stickers shared an ENORMOUS variety of stickers for the Girl Fridays to play with for this challenge, and boy did I have fun with all those yummy goodies!  Thank you, SRM Stickers – you ROCK!!

CFC43 - For Sentimental Reasons

This project was so easy to assemble – literally it took me five minutes!!  That’s one of the things that I love about both Clean & Simple designing as well as the use of clear stickers – so freakin’ easy!!  I cut the green “belly band” out using my Silhouette SD and a Silhouette Studio design.  I trimmed the edges of the band with the decorative borders from the Fancy Sentiments – Thinking of You sticker set.  I placed the Miss You sentiment directly onto the card base, and then adhered the trimmed band to the card base with dimensional squares.  Seriously, could this be any easier – and I really like the way this turned out!  What do you think?

So get those focal image sentiments out and create something for this week’s challenge – can’t wait to see what you come up with!  I would highly recommend that you drop by the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog for some amazing eye candy from the other Girl Fridays – delicious, I tell ya!

Before I go, we have a sad goodbye to tell you about.  I’m sure you all know Julie Ranae who, with Michele Gross, created the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge.  She was responsible for much of the social networking of the challenge, but had many other responsibilities behind the scenes, as well as was a fabulous contributor to the inspiration projects that we share with you all each week.  Well, Julie has decided to leave our little “nest” a bit early, and we’re all so sad to see her go.  Julie has been an amazing cheerleader for us all, and continues to be an absolute creative MACHINE out there in blogland!  I’d like to thank Julie for her amazing contribution to making CAS-ual Fridays such a huge success.  I’m sad that you’re leaving, Julie, but I know that you won’t be too far from “home.”  I know we’ll see your beautiful face around and about, and that makes me happy.  Wishing you all the best in your future creative endeavors and in your life!  As far as I’m concerned this is not goodbye – it’s just “See Ya Later!”  How’s that for a focal sentiment?!  If you want to see what Julie’s up to, be sure and pop in to see her at her blog – Julie’s Open Window!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I’ll be flying off to Seattle on Sunday, so things may be a bit quiet around here for a few days.  I’ll try to pop in every now and then when I can, but my main focus for a while will be my grandsons.  Love being a Gramma!!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #42–Hey Baby!!

Hello Friends!
CFC42 Graphic
It’s time once again for another fabulous CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, and this could not come at a better time for me.  This week’s challenge is to:  Create a CLEAN & SIMPLE project with a baby theme.  How fun is that?!

Simon Says Stamp
This week’s challenge is being sponsored by Simon Says Stamps AND the TGIF winner of this week’s challenge will become our Temp (a/k/a Guest Designer) for one of the upcoming challenges.  BONUS!!  Simon Says Stamps is an online store and the purveyor of some of the most delicious stamp goodness known to woman kind.  Simon Says Stamps has also provided a very generous prize for the TGIF Winner, but you’ll have to hop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog to find out what it is.  Thank you Simon Says Stamps!
CFC42 - Hey Baby
Like I said, this challenge couldn’t have come at a better time for me.  It just so happens that my daughter is due to deliver our second grandson, Brenner Joseph, on March 12th, and we are over the moon thrilled to bits about that!  Even though he’s coming a little earlier than his original due date (April 2nd), we’re praying that everything goes through without a hitch and that he’s just as healthy and adorable as his big brother, Brecken Mathew.  My daughter has wonderful doctors, so she’s in great hands, that’s for sure!

So, of course, I had to create a sweet Baby Boy card in honor of Brenner’s upcoming birth.  I’ll list the supplies I used below.
STAMPS:  Bundle of Love, Sweet Baby, Fillable Frames, Night, Night Moon, and Baby Button Bits (PTI)
INK:  Fresh Snow (PTI), Winter Sky (A Muse Studio), Onyx Black VersaFine (Tsukineko)
PAPER:  Snow CS (Bazzill Basics Paper), Spring Rain CS (PTI), White CS (Neenah)
ACCESSORIES:  Spring Rain Button (PTI), Shore Baker’s Twine (The Twinery), Fillable Frames #3 Die (PTI), Stampin’ Dimensionals (Stampin’ Up!)

I so hope you’ll play along with us!  Be sure and click on through to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog for all the details of the challenge, as well as some incredible inspiration from the rest of the Girl Fridays.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I plan to have a fun weekend of cropping and attending a stamp show with my girls this weekend – PAR-TAY!!  Hope you have some wonderful crafty plans for your weekend, too!
